Poppy Duty

First Poppy Appeal duty of the season, evening shift (18:00 - 20:30) at TESCO.
I was with Sarah this evening, a lovely lady who also sings with the Innsworth Military Wives Choir, one of the groups under the Military Wives Choirs banner.
We never know how much we've collected until it is all collated after Remembrance Sunday, which this year is 10th November, Armistice Day being the 11th, as always.
It was quite busy for a while though and people can be very generous, some putting notes into the pot, or £10/£20 on the contactless payment machine without even taking a poppy, or any of the other merchandise on offer.
Keeps me off the streets anyway, I'd only be making a nuisance of myself otherwise.
