From the Lookout
The day dawned beautifully, after yesterday’s hideous weather. I tipped out 82 mm of rain from the gauge in 12 hours. That’s a heap of rain.
We lingered long over breakfast, enjoying chatting and reminiscing. Because it was such a splendid day we made plans to head south to Waimate….it is many years since they had been there. This is the view from the lookout above the town, the town of my birth. The rapeseed paddocks making a statement. From there we viewed the siloart and other places about before going to the recently refurbished ‘The Waimate’, a pub that has stood since 1869 for a very nice lunch.
It wasn’t a photography outing I only had my phone with me.
Our mates have just left for the trip back to Christchurch……I’m ready for some quiet time.
