Party time
Basically spent all day in the car, listening to our next book group book (Orbital by Samantha Harvey, which I enjoyed). I stopped at Snaith to collect the rest of P’s ashes after his cousin had scattered some around sites in East Yorkshire that were dear to him as he’d requested. I need to do the rest on the Scottish west coast where he and I scattered my Mum’s.
It was a trouble free drive, and I arrived at Mt&H’s not long after they’d returned from Mx’s party in the woods. A teacher has developed a side business running forest adventures and parties for kids and they’d had a great time building a den, learning to light cotton wool using a spark from a steel, making how and arrows and toasting marshmallows.
Lovely to see them all and Mx had had a lovely day. He and AR are in a phase of getting on really well and I watched a video of how she’d played him happy birthday on her guitar yesterday morning when he woke up that she’d been learning all week, and he ran over and hugged her for it…lovely,
He showed me all his presents and then on his request we got take out pizza for supper as they were all a bit too whacked to go out to the restaurant…tasty!
Once they’d gone to bed Mt and I went to the supermarket for stuff for the family party tomorrow, then we collapsed on the sofa and watched Strictly on catch up and had a laugh at their costumes and Halloween get up.
