Azalea delicatissima

My favourite deciduous azalea. It is flowering in my garden and its lovely fragrance wafts through the air, particularly during the evenings and early mornings. It stopped raining overnight leaving 34mm of rain in the rain gauge. Measured every day at 9.am. 34mm is quite a lot for Blenheim. Meanwhile there was snow in inland areas of the lower South Island. It was heavy in places and caused a number of road closures. Crazy weather conditions for this time of year.
Maisie’s and my early walk presented some problems due to flooding in the Taylor River Reserve. Paths were flooded and impassable. Luckily we were able to change route and walk to the Burleigh bridge and back.
