Dora the Skipper (backblip)
We've had such a fabulous day , it's impossible to catalogue it all. Started with a fabulous breakfast at the guest house to set me up, meanwhile exchanging festival stories with the other guests.
Walked into Whitby ( how can one town have so many delicatessens? Of course I'd expected Dracula-themed shops, but not Delis) walked along the harbour where the boat trips leave from, and along the beach until I was directly below the pavillion. Fortunately, there was a way up via a ramp, vans I saw some more live music (acoustic guy, Mackie) and explored the whole venue. There's a huge theatre with plush seats, among other things. Danced in the DJ lounge, read my newspaper, wandered up and down the cliff because there were street musicians performing 'up top' including the Houghton Brass band performing under the statue of Captain Cook. Even went to a ceilidh at some point, back downstairs. Worked out that the reason the pavillion seems so familiar is that it featured as a hospital in the noughties TV series The Royal.
Eventually, when I had decided that it didn't matter what time my sister K turned up, she rang! It was about 2.30 pm.
I will have to write the rest of this later ...
