Filming
Martin and I popped down to Haddington today to see filming of a new film, ‘Borges and Me’ by Jay Parnini.
The whole of the High Street, was dressed up as late 1960s St. Andrews with altered shopfront and appropriate old fashioned cars and autobuses.
Anyway, here is a scene of a demonstration against the Vietnam war.
Jay Parini’s ‘novelised memoir’ tells of a surreal journey through Scotland when, as a graduate student in St Andrews in 1970, he was asked to look after Jorge Luis Borges. Having discovered that Jay owned a Morris Minor, the blind Argentinian persuaded his minder to take him ‘to see the Highlands’ and meet an editor of Anglo-Saxon riddles in Inverness.
All very exciting to see the big camera and filming etc.
I hope you have had a good Sunday.
