Warm October days
Today turned out to be a pleasant warm day, which I traditionally ended by going to our little country store just before it closed. After that, I strolled down one of the streets in our village, repaying a small debt to my elderly acquaintance — the day before, I had bought a bag of corn from her, which her family grows on their land. It's common in the village to settle up with each other later, as many people here trust one another and keep their word.
