Boat coming through
Not 100%, but feeling much better, I remarked to MrM that I need to build up some fitness after several days with no exercise at all. His response that we could climb a hill didn't seem a particularly good idea, and I suggested instead something a little less energetic - a walk by the canal from Marsden.
After lunch we drove there, calling in at a local hardware shop on the way. Apparently there's been a run on mouse traps recently and they've sold out. The only alternative on offer instead of a humane mouse trap was rat poison, so I hastily declined and we set off once more.
We walked along the towpath from Marsden to Slaithwaite, where we sat outside a café and indulged in coffee and deliciously moist raspberry bakewell slices before walking back. It was a gloriously sunny afternoon, mild for late October, with some fabulous autumnal trees along the way (extra). We paused for a while to watch this boat coming through the lock (toyed with having the extra as the main Blip, but I like the shaft of sunlight shining through the lock in this one).
The walk took a little longer than anticipated and by the time we got back to the van the light was fading fast. Too late to cook, so we called in for take-away fish & chips on the way home.
