Penrith

Fletch seemed not the worst after bouncing down the stairs yesterday so I didnt need to cancel the trip to Penrith to get the car serviced. 
It was a lovely sunny day and not too cold so a nice drive up. People ask Why go all the way up when you can have the car serviced in Barrow. But I have been pleased with the service at the Toyota garage,  they are reasonable re pricing and Penrith is pleasant enough to wander round especially in a dry sunny day. 
It was rather cold but we were dressed accordingly.  
Its about 20 minutes walk in to town , going past the allotments ( no scarecrow and sunflowers this year) and down to The Lemon Tree for lunch. Reasonably priced and very good food. 
After a leisurely lunch we strolled through the church grounds, past the Giants grave ( see extra) and did some shop browsing.  
They didnt take as long to service the car as we expected and didnt charge as much as expected either as our car has low mileage for a 10 year old.

Fletch coped well considering we walked him quite a way today. He was flagging a bit on the way back but he soldiered on. Hes a brilliant dog
