Clinging on

Most of the trees around here are now completely devoid of leaves, but this one caught my eye this afternoon, for both the lovely colour and abundance of leaves still clinging on.

As I set out for my walk I came across a neighbour who was doing his best to remove the thick layer of leaves on the sloping pavement with a rake. I'm aware of how slippery the leaves make the pavement, especially when they're wet, so I was very grateful.
