Tawny Owl
Took advantage of the extra hour to have a bit of a lie in and then go for a run. We did the Sonning loop and it felt OK even though I've not run for a couple of weeks.
Joined a local environmental group on a nature photography walk at a nature reserve. It was a lovely day and a very friendly group. I had chance to play with the new bridge camera but I really must work out how to change some of the settings so I'm not always on auto mode. The tawny owl was sunning itself in the warm autumn sunshine.
After lunch we headed out to a garden centre to get some plants for the large and small pots at the front of the house. The new car's fairly small boot was still large enough for 2 50 litre compost bags and 3 trays of plants. The heucheras that we've had in large pots for a couple of years have been attacked and killed by vine weevils. It has been so sad to see them decline and have their roots almost destroyed. We've not had problems with them before. I also planted up some busy lizzies that I rooted from the hanging baskets for use as house plants and I'm attempting to root a couple of succulent leaves.
Not looking forward to it being dark when I go home tomorrow night.
