I spent a lot of the day in the garden, reading and thinking and pottering about. The sun was out for several hours, and I always want to enjoy it as much as I can on its too-brief appearances.

There was a lot of dew on the grass and on most of the vegetation in the garden, which was looking particularly striking in the low autumn sun. I was really taken by the way it looked on this fresh conifer growth, contrasted against the blue sky, and chose it as my photo for today's post.

I hadn't slept quite enough, and anyway, my successful date yesterday had taken a lot of my energy, so I wasn't feeling energetic. But that's okay.

I came inside when the sun disappeared and the rain started to arrive, and spent the rest of the day doing various small tasks on my computer and watching interesting and entertaining videos.

In other words, I had a pretty quiet day.
