BROMELIAD

When I bought this little plant - and it is little; the pot is not much bigger than an egg-cup - a week or so ago, it was just the leaves and that bright pink fan. Then suddenly these two vivid purple flowers appeared one after another out of the edges of the fan, and I think there may be more to come. If they'd been there when I bought it I would have assumed they were fake, like those exotic blossoms that are sometimes stuck onto cacti. I mean, how could they possibly be real?! But they are and it's a delight.
