Quod oculus meus videt

First Sunrise of British Winter

What a pleasure to get a couple of days in a row when the morning was so colourful.  This shot is only possible by going the extra mile, walking shin deep through the marginal waters of this pool so I could get the reflection of the tree. Thankfully, I'd put on wellingtons in anticipation.  It was a lovely hour or so capturing different images from the area while enjoying the photonic shower. There were various experts on the TV and radio extolling the virtue of being outside to bathe in the first rays of sunlight of the day. Apparently it helps your body reset its internal clock and set you up for the day.

We had a lazy morning before meeting up with E and W for a walk from a local pub to build up an appetite for a meal.  I'd planned the walk, at what I thought was around 4 to 5 miles but a slight mistake causing retracing of steps and we ended up doing more than six miles.  I was not popular, even with myself as the achilles again protested.

Still it was lovely to catch up over a Sunday roast in the pub.
