Whippendale Wood

It was a glorious day today. We made the most of an extra hour in the morning when we took Bonnie and Dennis out for a stroll in the sunrise.
Tom made some delicious fluffy pancakes for breaking, and then we set off to Whippendale Wood. It’s a large woodland with some ancient oaks and other mixed plantings. The Grand Union Canal passes through, and then there’s a good children’s playground.
George and Pippa looked for woodland items in their new I Spy books, and did really well.
Back home, Tom cooked us a delicious roast beef lunch, with all the trimmings. Wonderful!
We have left them, and gone on to my sister in Essex, it was a dark drive and busy, including a road closed by an accident. But we got here safely!
