Sheepfold

Fly’s more devoted to her dad than Goldsworthy.

I texted craggy to see if he fancied another drive out (a bored craggy who can’t climb is not a good thing) and went through to pick him up. We headed off to wistfully look at crags and I sneaked in a look at the nearby Goldsworthy sheepfold. It was pretty cloudy and chilly so went on through Kirkby and looked in at the Stainmore Railway open day which was particularly nostalgic for craggy whose dad worked on the railways. Then we headed on and parked up on Tommy Road and I got the stove out for a brew and flapjack. A chap came down off Wild Boar Fell and was parked just next to us … I thought I vaguely recognised him and it turned out he was someone we both knew from work some years ago. We had a chat with him for a bit and then made our way back having weaved our way through work, training, awareness, awe … and grit (looking across to what we thought might been Pen-y-Ghent in the distance) …
