Here are all the contestants for the 2024 Great British Bake Off. We like to learn their names up front so we feel like we know them before the competition starts.

1. Andy (44) – A car mechanic from Essex. He started baking with his mum and now bakes for his partner and daughter, specialising in family classics like apple crumble and Bakewell tarts.

2. Christiaan (33) – A Dutch menswear designer living in London. His bakes are detailed and influenced by his fashion background, with a love for bread and floral, citrusy flavours.

3. Dylan (20) – A retail temp from Buckinghamshire with Indian, Japanese, and Belgian roots. His bakes combine sweet and spicy flavours, inspired by his travels in Southeast Asia.

4. Georgie (34) – A paediatric nurse from Wales with Italian roots. She enjoys foraging and specialises in Italian baking, particularly cannoli.

5. Gill (53) – A senior category manager from Lancashire. She raises money for Alzheimer's charities with her bakes, focusing on traditional recipes with a modern twist.

6. Hazel (71) – A former nail technician from Kent and the oldest contestant this year. She’s known for her elaborate cakes with working parts.

7. Illiyin (31) – A midwife from London with a love for Middle Eastern and Caribbean flavours in her baking.

8. Jeff (66) – A former basketball coach from the Bronx, now living in Yorkshire. He specialises in New York cheesecakes and family baking traditions.

9. John (37) – A Directorate Support Manager for the NHS from the West Midlands. He learned to bake from his nan, focusing on traditional bakes with a modern twist.

10. Mike (29) – A farm manager from Wiltshire, shortlisted for Young Farmer of the Year. He’s known for growing his own wedding flowers and baking the cake for his upcoming wedding.

11. Nelly (44) – A palliative care assistant from Dorset, originally from Slovakia. She enjoys combining Slovakian cuisine with her husband's Pakistani heritage.

12. Sumayah (19) – A dentistry student from Lancashire, the youngest contestant, who enjoys baking in her spare time.
