In need of some zen...
First train of the day to Exeter was slightly delayed but nothing compared to delay of my second train to Bristol, stood on the platform for over an hour and when the train eventually arrived it was standing room only (two previous trains cancelled so three train loads crammed on to one four-carriage train). Bristol station was absolute mayhem. My third train home was cancelled so I left the station to take the bus instead. In the 1 hour 6mins that I stood waiting for a bus, five buses didn’t turn up so when one eventually did it was rammed, standing room only, and the driver had to turn away some passengers.
With all these delays I’d let the care home know that I wouldn’t be there in time to take Dad down to the Halloween party and asked for the carers to take him. When I eventually arrived two hours later than planned Dad was still in his room and the party had finished. He was very disappointed, I was fuming! Instead I took him out for some fresh air and we ended up at the pub where the sunshine and Buddha (and the cider!) helped to restore a little calm. My last bus of the day had me home by 6pm, 10hours after setting off that morning. Totally pooped!!
Thank you so much for all your kind stars and hearts for my Lyme Regis blips, even if there was no sign of Meryl Streep!
(Still backblipping. Had hoped to catch up today, Monday, but have succumbed to a lurgy, probably picked up on this nightmare journey, and had to cancel my plans for the day and just rest.)
