St Andrew’s Day 1970

The extra hour in bed was most welcome.  It was a lovely morning so I started my day with a walk – around my pre-work walk route, but with an extra wander along by the river.  I came back home via town and there was much hustle and bustle along the 1970s High Street.  I pottered and then headed out for a run.  It was fresh, but I was warm enough once I got going.  I did my usual six mile route, and bumped into BB and R when I was nearly home.  They were out for a walk.  I stopped for a  quick chat, as I haven’t seen R since she went off to University.

TT and I had lunch, then he got himself sorted out for going back to Glasgow.  I dropped him off at the bus stop, then parked by the supermarket, but went for a  quick walk first to stretch my legs first.  I ended up going along the High Street again, and got stopped while they filmed a protest march, against the Vietnam war.  I bumped into a friend who said they had been doing this all day!  I picked up my shopping, then headed home to read my book and chill out a bit before making tea.  TT arrived home as I was in the middle of cooking, which was good timing.  I made a roasted tomato risotto with fennel, prawns and salmon.  It was quite Tasty.

Later we watched some TV, and I had the fear about going back to work tomorrow.

This is a scene from the High Street this afternoon.
