Yew Tree House

We’ve passed by this building dozens of times on our years of walks around Bearsted. I’ve taken so many photos the owners must suspect I’ve been casing the joint for ages. It’s just that in the past I’ve had better offers for a blip. Today, not so, it has its moment in the blip world.

It’s a Late C15 or early C16 timber framed Wealden house, named after a yew, which might be the one in the shot. It’s seen a few changes in its time looking out over Weavering Street and not always for the better.

We were spot by yesterday’s super weather. The first day of GMT was suitably dull and drizzly, getting dark early too.

We had a plumber remove a radiator today as the first step in the renovation of the back bedroom. The fun starts tomorrow
