The Old Royal

Took this from the 27 bus as it trundled along Lauriston Place.
It’s the former Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where I trained as a registered nurse 1984-1987.
These were some of the surgical wards. Great big long nightingale wards.
Much of the hospital has been knocked down but some of it is listed so it’s been nicely renovated.
Extra is Archibald Place which once housed the Florence Nightingale Nurses Home at the bottom (where the glass building is) Stayed there for 6/7 months. Looks very different now.
Might have blipped this before!

Earlier in the day, we took my auntie out for breakfast. Our youngest pair and grandbaby are also here having driven up from London yesterday so they joined us too.
My auntie was delighted to meet the latest addition to the family - her great, great niece who was in good happy form today.
