Cornus capitata

If you didnt know that some dogwoods bear these strange strawberry-looking fruit, you’re not alone. I think the only place you can learn this is here on Blip every year at about this time when I post my annual photo of this tree in our front yard. After “What is it?” the most asked question is: “Is it edible?”  And I always answer that it is the only thing that I have never seen a bird, a squirrel, a rat, or anything else that comes in the night attempt to sample. That’s good enough for me. It’s real pretty though.
