Day 3 Changi Chapel

In World War 2 Changi was a Japanese prisoner of war camp near Singapore.

Australian and Allied POWs built this chapel at Changi. After the liberation of Singapore the chapel was disassembled, packed and sent to the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. The War Memorial apparently didn’t know what to do with it and it remained undisturbed for 40 years. Finally in 1988 it was rebuilt at the Royal Military College.
