Wow....just WOW!
I had to run some errands in the morning and then spent the afternoon with family and going to the swimming pool in the afternoon with my nephew Tómas Haukur.
Later we had dinner with my younger son Kári, who lives in Reykjavík. Very nice Achiote tuna steaks and Cochinita slow cooked pork at Tres Locos, followed by this gigantic dessert plate which according to the menu was suitable for 2-4 people. Well, I had been hesitant to order dessert because we were absolutely not hungry, but I thought we might want just a little something sweet with our coffee, and on the menu this sounded like a plate we could manage and share. You can imagine we were surprised when we were presented with this blazing starlight (or torch? What is this called?) in a gigantic bowl filled with both ice and dry ice, four large pieces of cake and three large scoops of icecream and some fruit and berries. I tried to snap a quick photo while the waiter pulled the rattan pendant light away from the table and we watched this fire hazard take place in front of us in a listed wooden building from 1847!
