TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE!
I was due to go out today for a coffee and catch up chat with my friend, Caroline, so when she text me yesterday to ask if we were still on to go, she told me that she would wear something pink in honour of BCAM. I know she always reads my Blips, so was pleased about this and realised I would have a “ready-made” Blip, so wouldn’t have to rely on pink flowers again, so told her I would bring my "selfie stick" whereupon she groaned!! Did she really think she could wear pink and me NOT take a photograph?
However, I would have had a good Blip anyway, because when the road sweeper came today - to clean up our road, after the gas work had been completed, I was amazed to see the side of the sweeper lorry said “BF Sweepers - Proudly Supporting pink ribbon foundation”! The driver told me that his boss always supports this particular charity, so I was pleased. So today, you have “two for one” - or rather “three for one”, because Caroline and I make two and the sweeper lorry makes three!
I did go out and speak to the driver, Chris - and he said he would do the best he could, but it was rather a mess, which I agreed. He has done a reasonable job, considering that there are some tight angles in our little patch of road, so we are happier now that we won’t be going through mud and stones to get to our driveway.
Caroline and I had a great catch up at Jack’s and said we will try and meet up before Christmas - but we all know how quickly that comes upon us. It’s always enjoyable to meet a good friend and of course, to catch up on all things to do with family. Thanks for a great morning, Caroline - and my turn next time!
When I got home, I decided to go out for my walk before having lunch; I went on my own today, as Mr. HCB had already done his long walk earlier whilst I was out, but I enjoyed going as fast as I could and although it was under 4,000 steps, keeping to a daily walking routine can only do me good. I seem to be fine with the statins, except I have some muscle aching in my legs in the evening, but am trying to forget about that and just concentrate on the fact that hopefully, it will help to bring my cholesterol down in due course.
HUGE thanks to all those who are CLICKING on this LINK every day to help those, especially in other countries, who cannot afford to pay for a mammogram, but can get a free one because of all those clicks. Of course, you can keep clicking all year, as many do, and this will help many people we will never see or know, but at least we will be “doing our bit”.
We have friends coming round this afternoon for coffee and a chat - so better go and dust - what? I don’t think so - and as the saying goes “If you come to see me, come at any time, but if you come to see my house, make an appointment”! Well, we did make an appointment, but I have had a busy few days, so no Domestic Goddessing has been done so far this week, and probably won’t be done until next week, or the week after, or perhaps I will just wait until nearer Christmas! M xx ;-)
