Gorse
Ulex europaeus
I'm not sure you're meant to, but I love gorse - those furry flaming yellow flowers at any time of year, even when the spikey leaves, as here, are turning brown for autumn. It's brightness on my walk today really caught my eye so it becomes my blip for the day.
Bits of sun this morning and no rain, which was a relief after yesterday. I've finally, finally sorted the bank which is a huge relief and in honour of the big orange things on sale everywhere I cooked a really good pumpkin soup for lunch. This, I have to tell you, is the closest I come to celebrating Hallowe'en, a festival I dislike more each year. I may get some sweets to hand out to any small kids that come to the door on Thursday evening, but that's it! Kind of, 'bah, humbugs'!
Have a happy evening, all xx
