Rhuddlan Bridge
TUESDAY
I headed down to Rhuddlan for a 11:00 hair appointment with Catherine who is now back on her feet after suffering from a broken foot in the summer.
I stopped off at St Mary's Church parts of which date back to the 13th Century and bumped into my friend Paul who was busy tidying up the churchyard. Also a stop off at Starbucks for a quick cappuccino afterwards.
A walk around the village early afternoon was cut short due to heavy drizzle.
Rhuddlan Bridge (pictured) which spans the tidal River Clwyd is classed as an Ancient Monument the main structure dating to the medieval or post-medieval period. The present bridge, which consists of two unequal stone arches, carries a tablet with the date 1595, but it was remodelled in 1959 to allow for a widened roadway.
