Connections.
I went back to Wolverhampton today. Where we lived and worked for nearly fifty years. Still connected, but I don't miss it one bit
Took Hollie with me and after my dentist visit we went for a walk around the track at Barnurst Pitches.
The track is marked with these wonderful mosaics which relate to important times in Wolverhampton's recent history.
Boulton Paul's was a big engineering factory and major employer in the area
It was built for the aviation industry and had connections to Pendeford Airfield.
I worked for Birmingham Midshires Building Society who's head offices were built on the land occupied by the airfield, until it closed on 1970.
After a pleasant hour walking around the track, I then dropped in to see Keith, my brother in law who served his apprenticeship at Boulton Paul's and worked there for over thirty years.
After tea and chat, I then returned home, stopping briefly at Aldi in Bridgnorth to restock the freezer and get fruit and bread for the next few days.
Fed the dog, cooked some fish and veg for my supper, and had a telephone chat with Mrs I before settling down for an evening in front of the TV.
Another day done, looking forward to visiting my wife tomorrow for an update on her progress.
