Farewell to Whitby

I'll stay longer next time! It was a delightful visit. 

My sister K dropped me off at the station, then she headed off over the bridge on foot for some retail therapy, while I caught the bus to Scarborough. Delightful views over Robin Hood's Bay and the Moors. 

At Scarborough I had a coffee in the lovely bar of the the theatre opposite the station. This is an un attractive looking building from the outside , but the interior is grand and, as one of my friends would say, 'nicely appointed'.

At York I had lunch in S park and watched the tourists boats chug up and down the river. Back at the station, our train was delayed. It did eventually limp into Cheltenham only a few minutes behind schedule, and fortunately our train was held  back for it, so I was able to catch the final train to Stroud. 

I will definitely go back to Musicport festival, but will stay longer to enjoy North Yorkshire, and I'll.choose a  B&B with a larger bedroom. Maybe even the same house, different room.
