Brilliant

We woke early so headed to the river with a cup of tea. It's a wonderful way to start the day and this morning the light was lovely, it was getting hot, there was a water bird (not sure of the type) who had a huge brood of babies with her and the river looked so wonderful that I decided to take a paddle before breakfast.

Quick rush to Rainbow Park to launch the kayak, it was a leisurely ride with some stops for pictures. I followed a bird most of the way, it was diving for fish and I was floating along watching the antics. After about 1 hour we came across her mate and babies, the same one Thomas and I had seen in the morning. Counted about 14 of them..
