Snowy Waxcap

Mrs Catspaw and I were delighted to discover a 'fairy ring' of waxcap fungal bodies in our village churchyard this morning.

A Google Lens search of the detail shot of an already damaged fruiting body (see today's 'Extra') suggested these might be Snowy Waxcaps (Cuphophyllus virgineus, syn. Hygrocybe virginea).
