Autumn colour

An overcast day but mild with no wind. 
We went for a walk around the Abbey ruins . 

While we were strolling round I got a phone call from the private hospital in Lancaster regarding the lump in my wrist.  I was a bit taken aback as I expected just an appointment in our local hospital not 50 miles away. 
I considered cancelling going as I dont think it's too serious but my thumb is quite painful and better to go and be told its nothing than cancel and then wonder about it. 

Back home and we waited for the new washing machine to be delivered. I bunged in a load on the quick wash and it was nice and quiet. 
I've no idea how long the different washes take. It would be useful if they had that with the instructions. 
I was told that only putting one large sheet in can knock the balance of the drum. And there was I thinking putting in 2 would be worse. 
At least it's a nice simple machine to use ie it is not linked to WiFi and and app.
