Oh, deer. :-(

An early phonecall as I was just getting out of the shower this morning. Mum's dog was in the playpark behind her bungalow. A stranger rang me from the tel number on her ID tag. I asked if she could take the dog back to the bungalow, & call me back if Mum was there. I hurriedly dressed, she called me back to say front door was open, & Mum was there... The relief!!! I told hubby I had to go down to CK explaining what had happened.. "It's got to stop!" I ignored that reply & drove to CK. Phew! I think the carers might not have closed the front gate fully last night. Got Mum settled, made her breakfast, then walked Indie. The poor deer was on the heath. Mel, the cleaner back today. :-) I drove back to Chudleigh picked up the newspapers, bought a gate spring, peanuts, & weedkiller from the hardware shop. Need to find someone to fix spring on to metal front gate, another job. Dropped the paper & snack for hubby's lunch back to the house, mentioning yet again that Mum & I were out to lunch with a friend. Back to CK
We picked Jan up in BT & drove up to The Moorland hotel at Haytor. It was surprisingly quiet. We had a lovely lunch and catch up in very comfortable surroundings.
