Trixie's Adventures

Walking & sleeping

All we have done today is 'walk & sleep'. Today we have walked 21,463 steps. Ann hasn't been out anywhere without me and she hasn't had any energy/motivation to do any of the jobs on her 'to do' list. Oh well, ho hum, there's always tomorrow.

This morning we walked to 'Cameron Toll Roundabout' because Ann had heard horrendous stories of how it was closed/had mega long delays etc and she wanted to check it out for herself because it's our main route that we use for going to Fort Kinard Shopping Centre and for visiting friends in Portobello. All the stories were correct. One side of it is completely closed until mid Nov but we're guessing it will be longer.

Anyway to get there, we walked through the Hermitage and then I got to have a run about in Inch Park so all was good. We walked almost 6 miles this morning.

Came home and decided to watch the Budget but we both fell asleep. And anyway does it really matter what's happening with the budget? Ann watching it, isn't going to change anything is it?

Tiny little rant coming up – Ann went to Lidl yesterday and her favourite wine (that she's been buying in Cornwall all summer) was £2 a bottle dearer here. Seriously?!!! What is it with Scotland & the minimum pricing thing? Ann just doesn't get it. If people want to drink they will drink; however much alcohol is. Having said that, Ann didn't buy it but only because she brought 12 bottles of wine back from England with her. Lol!

At 2.30pm we went out again and walked another 3 miles. We have to go out by about 2.30pm if I want a decent walk. Walked for about 3.5 miles and by the time we got home at 3.45pm it was getting dark and we had to put all the lights on. We both needed another snooze after that.

At 5pm I asked for early dinner because walking 21,463 steps had made me mega hungry. I'm having another snooze now.

Ann's got a friend coming round for dinner tonight so she's trying to get organised. Actually, they're having a 'Tesco Dine in for two' meal, so there's nothing to organise. It just needs to get put in the oven for half an hour when Fiona arrives. At least the 'Tesco Dine In' meals haven't gone up yet?! Well they hadn't on Sunday?!! The menu is, 'Slow Cooked Pulled Beef with Chianti Sauce & Cheddar & Herb Dumplings, Baby Potatoes, Chantenay Carrots & Tenderstem Broccoli, followed by Melt in the Middle Chocolate Foundants, and washed down with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Sounds lovely doesn't it, but this is a new one for Ann so it might be not be all it's cracked up to be. Time will tell. All for £12. Such good value cos the bottle of wine alone would be £7.50.

….............And that's been our day........................... walking & sleeping.................... it's almost like being back in lock down again, but at least Ann is going to have a bit of human interaction this evening. Yay!
