Bug City
I’ve been meaning to blip Bug City for ages, it’s outside the excellent Bird Ventures pet shop. I had to go into town to change the size of three of the four shirts I bought yesterday which were too big. I watched the budget and analysis, then cleaned the windows, door and garage doors out the front of the bungalow. I received my new Fitbit this afternoon and set it up, very quick and easy. I also receive my new TP-link plugs and set them up, also very easy (best way to get the wifi signal to my high data streaming devices - Firestick and Freesat box). I then watched Slow Horses and I think replacing that kit has worked as the picture is much sharper, not checked what shows on BT’s report though.
I was impressed with how Rachel Reeves delivered the budget, very confident and self assured whilst talking for 1hour 20 mins. I do have concerns about abolishing the non- Dom status as these people (often wealth creators) are very mobile and might just up and leave, particularly with the inheritance tax implications - although she didn’t explain what the replacement Residence based scheme is. (Most people have no idea that the top 1% of earners pay 29.1% of all income tax the Govt collects per a Google search and that 1 in 30 non-Doms leaving would cost £2.5bn).I was quite shocked at the level of borrowing, and I’d be surprised if the markets don’t react to that. The forecasts 3+ years out I didn’t think were overly credible in terms of spending. And don’t get me started about all parties being at best misleading in their manifestos!
