Leicester
Today I gave Django a decent walk in good weather, and then go down to a couple of hours' work before taking the bus Waverley Station. Since I had time, I got off early and had a pleasant wander through the old town.
On the three-hour train journey to Manchester, I got on with a variety of work tasks. Unusually, my ticket took me to Manchester Victoria, allowing me to take its Turf zone - since it's only accessible beyond the ticket barriers, thwarting me on previous visits.
I checked into Motel One on St Peter's Square, and did I but more work before it was time to head out to Old Trafford. Central Station looked as great as ever.
I'm now in the "safe standing" area at Old Trafford - for the first time. I have a seat, but a barrier in front of the seats makes it "safe", but I've already knocked my head against the barrier behind my seat a couple of times!
I've never seen United lose, and every time I've seen them in a cup game, they've gone on to lift the trophy (two League cups and a Europa League). But this is the 13th time I've seen them play! Who knows what sort of team performance I'll see, after the events of Monday...
4-2 at half time: after 20 minutes of dress, I'm certainly getting my money's worth now. It finished 5-2, but the second half was far from dull
