Data access is a tricky one. Researchers want easy access to data to do their work. Data needs to be protected. I understand the tension there. However, making data use dependant on a commercial cloud plat from that needs to be bought into is shitty. Also the big cloud platforms (with the exception of azure probably) strongly prefer credit card payments.
