Three's A Crowd On The Chimney

The shrill call of a kestrel caught my attention. I grabbed the camera and ran outside. The first thing I saw was a buzzard on top of the very tall leylandii hedge with a magpie close to it. Then I heard the call again. I was a long way away but I could see three birds on the northerly boiler house chimney, a pair of kestrels and a magpie. I watched as, what I think was, the female kestrel, chased the magpie from the chimney. It returned soon afterwards and the male shouted at it. Undeterred it remained as the female flew in circles shrieking. (Extras)

Our daughter came to watch the budget with us and we had some laughs.
