Inflation!

It seems that those inflatable pumpkins and ghosts displayed on the lawns around our neighbourhood are not the only things being inflated this season. Check out the cost of Hallowe'en candy! Yikes!

I had not been aware as I had not bought said candy since Hallowe'en last year...but I soon found out. It has been all over the news. Apparently, not only does the candy cost more, but on top of that, the number of items in a box has been reduced or in other cases, the size of each chocolate bar has been reduced. What kind of trickery is that? 

One news report even figured out the cost of one chocolate bar vs one packet of potato chips and determined that it would be more economical to give out potato chips! I guess there is the option of not giving out treats at all, but what a shame that would be....

My neighbour Elaine and I decided to splurge and give out the usual chocolate bars, primarily in case there are leftovers! Chocolate bars beat potato chips hands down.
