NZ Pied Stilt (Himantopus himantopus)

Janny and The Mistress went out to WP's place today to explore the wetland area for the birdlife for our blips today. Janny's camera is a good looking thing, but they kept us apart. We got close couple of times, but no time for any camera hanky panky. I was so disappointed. The Mistress said it's because Janny's camera is a Nikon and I'm a Canon, and she doesn't think the resulting union would be the best.

Anyway - we got lots of different birds - but the mistress has settled on the Pied Stilt for the blip. Both Janny and The Mistress sat in the swamp on a mound of grass getting damp backsides. The joys of birding.
