Halloween’s Eve

It was another damp, misty morning and a long day at work—busy as hell, and I didn’t get away till after six. Vanessa’s getting back into her early morning walks while she is off for half-term. Gabriel and Dash have been having fun preparing their Halloween costumes for various parties and shenanigans. I got my daily photo done very early today—only a few minutes past midnight; we experimented with multiple lighting angles to achieve the most menacing look. At first, I tried taking the shot from the obvious low angle, but Gubs pointed out this revealed the skin around his eyes that he’d been unable to blacken with face paint. I added the glowing red eyes in post-processing, they seemed to provide the perfect finishing touch.
