Went to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire with Ji. Its only a 40 minute drive away and was worth visiting, even though we had missed seeing all the trees at their autumn best . We had s good walk around in the rather unusual grey light. There were lots of memorials of course, some of which were really moving especially the one with a silver birch tree for each person shot by firing squad in WWI for cowardice etc.
the cafe was heaving with families on half tetm break so we drove to Mercia marina for a late lunch . U bought two dresses as well! Went to Bridge in the evening and we came 5th out of 11- best performance so far! Lovely day!
