Welcome the Elk

With Mrs W having some bad falls just recently we decided to look for some home mechanical system, eg a hoist, to help get her back onto her feet.  After lots of research we decided to forsake at least one holiday and buy a Mangar Elk.  

Hoists are almost as expensive with the difficulty of using in confined spaces,  getting it from floor to floor, and storage.  Having now tried the Elk out we can see where all the costs are and have given it top marks.
 
You can see by the blip that it folds up small and portable, and is now easily stored in our spare room.
 
It was on charge overnight and we tried it out this morning.  This also gave me the opportunity to try out her falls alarm properly; so while she was down there . . .  (not really, she got down carefully, sort off . . .).
 
I thought the best way to show the lift was it in use, however Mrs W has forbidden me to use a photo of her on it.  I did blank her out from one shot, but I still don’t dare to use it!
