Ferry across the Mersey

Cue the soundtrack - any visit to Liverpool is always worth a chill out time on the ferry, its great to see ships rolling in and out if your timings lucky or run up alongside one of the cruise ships if they are in town.
Still love the hour round tourist trip, which is a lot less grief than having to jump ship to get to see each ferry landing when we were 10 year old kids travelling all around the North West on a weekend train ticket for 50p, I can hear the out cry from social workers if kids tried to do that nowadays but it didnt seem a big deal for the 2 or 3 of us at the time.
Crewe, Chester, Wirral, Southport, Wigan, Bury, Manchester was our play ground
