Happy Face
I met up with three friends this morning for a walk through a wetlands/marsh area where we recorded 33 bird species while enjoying sunny, warm temps and good conversation. The light wasn't in my favor for any of the birds we saw, but just before we set out, we met some other walkers and their retriever mix. Of course, I couldn't resist getting some quick shots of the dog. She wouldn't sit or stay so I just grabbed what I could before she ran over and started licking me. I like this because it shows her rather unusual colors being perfectly set against the fall foliage.
I'm leaving shortly to head over to the venue for Sunday's Rally Dog Trial to talk with the owner and get the lay of the land.
Jax is at day care where he dutifully donned a costume for a quick pic by the staff. In general, he isn't a dog who likes wearing clothes or hats although I am getting him used to a jacket just so he doesn't get cold when we walk in the winter.
And today is Jax's Gotcha Day, the day that he came to live with us, three years ago. He was a scared little puppy then - what a difference three years has made! It is hard to imagine our lives without him.
As I always do, I bought some halloween candy and we will set up a self-serve station at the end of our driveway (our driveway is long and unlit, so not ideal for kids to walk up). Usually we get only a couple of trick-or-treaters but maybe this year will be different... we'll see.
Something dark...
