and off we go!
Why is it that the minute you get home reality kicks straight back in and it's as if you've never been away?
After all the washing was sorted and put away, I phoned a member of the congregation whose wife died just before we went away and arranged to drop in with some information he wanted.
Next I went to the cattery and picked up Cleo, she's very happy to be home again.
Colin and I went out for lunch, the service in the local bistro was very strange. I think the chef had two different members of staff working with him and it seemed to slow everything down and cause some difficulties.
If things continue like that, we won't be back.
I took Colin home and then went to visit Ian as arranged this morning.
My next stop was at the Rectory to pick up mail and generally see how things were. The new smart meter display unit had arrived so I set that up too. It should start working within 48 hours I was told, when I phoned to arrange for it to be activated.
Next stop was s local jeweller to drop off Ali's pendant to be adjusted. It is the one I gave her for each of her daughters' handprints.
Getting home was complicated by long queues of traffic in the village. They may just have been about timing, but I couldn't face queuing for the 20mins which Google maps predicted. I took a 3 mile diversion and was home within 10 minutes.
My blip is of the house next door to the Rectory who are having a Hallowe'en tonight. I hope they have lots of fun.
