From the Old to the New

We had an  busy and enjoyable day exploring the Central Business District (CBD) of Melbourne. In the morning we went to Victoria Market, a large and vibrant market selling almost everything. Of course the highlights were the food and produce stalls. In the afternoon we explored the shopping malls and alleys. The main is of the sumptuous Royal Arcade build in 1893 which seemed a more sumptuous version of the Victorian arcades of Cardiff. Dominating the skyline and towering over the Victorian and Edwardian architecture are the many modern buildings as shown in the extra.
