Forth his den to steal he stole
His bag of chink he chunk.
And many a wicked smile he smole
and many a wink he wunk.
The trailcam caught this nocturnal visitor across the field where we set it up to capture the worm excavation activity of the badgers. No badgers have been logged but foxes regularly patrol the area - several of my chickens have been taken over the past few months and our neighbours are raising Christmas geese.
I've always been a bit of a grammar nerd so the poem appealed. Its origins are obscure and I was intrigued to find that someone else has tried to track it down and discovered that it goes back quite a long way.
