Mass of roses
Our roses in the front garden have been having a second go at blooming and I found this wonderful mass of roses out full, looking almost like one huge flower. I had intended to go out for a walk this afternoon, but Paul suggested I leave it till later as it's very humid still and he hadn't enjoyed his walk much because of it. So - I have a wonderful excuse to do nothing this afternoon, as I spent the morning ironing and cooking.
Heard this morning that my Nan's brother's wife died yesterday at the age of 103. Her name was Doris, but I never met her as, by the time I got to know her daughter (when she got in contact with me in 2010 after my Mum died) Doris was past being able to relate to anyone because she was deaf and blind. I do kind of wish now that I had gone to see her, but she wouldn't have know who I was .... anyway I will probably go to her funeral to support her daughter. Doris was the last of that generation - understandably as she lived to be so very old. My Nan died in 1992.
