My local woods
I slept so badly last night that I have felt pretty terrible all day today - I only had about 4 hours sleep and that is quite debilitating when it has been going on for weeks. It all started when I had Covid and I had such headaches that I woke up at night from them, and consequently my body clock adjusted to that and I just cannot get it back into normal sync again.
I tried to carry on as normal - did gym this morning, grocery shopping, changed bedding and washed sheets, walked Xena, but quite honestly I limped through all of it. It was grey all day today - what is this, the new autumn weather now? The autumn colours still look good against the soft greys though.
Tomorrow is the annual SPA (Surrey Photographic Association) individual competition, where you enter as an individual and not through your club. Entries had to be submitted at a time when I was quite busy with prints for other competitions, so I did not give it much thought and in hindsight realised that I have not entered my best images. That's fine as I will use this competition as a way of getting some feedback. We have to attend in person so that is where I will be tomorrow, and I look forward to seeing the talented work of all the other photographers.
The flooding in Spain is horrific, so many people have died and it seems to now be spreading to other areas too. I am going to Spain on Thursday for a few days and we are watching with interest if our area is affected. I am going with a photographer from our camera club (and some other members) who is an award winning wildlife photographer, he has finally given up the day job and is running wildlife photography workshops full time. We are going to photograph the Iberian lynx so I hope we find them!
Tommy moved in to his new apartment today, and is very pleased with it. It is a public holiday in Germany today (due to All Souls day) and so all the shops are shut so although he was off work he could not go out and buy some things that he needed, including groceries and food. Inca arrives there late tonight so it will be great for her to see his new home.
I was planning on watching Lee tonight as it starts on Sky TV, but I am too tired to enjoy it today so will hopefully watch it tomorrow.
